A large crowd turned out at Lusignan Gopaal Mandir when the East Coast Pandits and mandir leaders hosted a memoriam for the victims of the killings at Lusignan over three nights recently. In a press release Pt Amit Persaud said the pitri paksh satsangh was held from Friday to Sunday. According to the pandit, Hindu Shastras state that if Black Til and milk is offered on behalf of ancestors during the session “it gives a very smooth and easy cross over for our ancestors to cross the Vaitarni Bhavasagar and reach their Vaikuntha.” He also urged the crowd to refrain from destructive behaviours, including the abuse of women and children.
