AFC Leader Raphael Trotman says that his party has found no major issues with the revised voters list and has described it as a list of a “higher standard” compared to those compiled for previous elections.
“For the first time in about three elections, there has not been no strong and strident opposition to this list,” Trotman said yesterday during a press briefing. “No list is perfect, but I believe this one….reaches a higher standard…but we will continue to scrutinize it,” he added, while responding to a question.
Earlier in the day, Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon indicated that the final voters list should be released early next week.
Trotman, meanwhile, indicated that his party is preparing for a November elections date based on signals coming from the Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom). “All indicators are that those elections would be held on any day between the 14th and the 28th or the end of November,” he said.
