An East Ruimveldt resident is now a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), after he was struck down by a driver who claimed he swerved from a cow.
Sheldon Booker, 37 of 284 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown is said to be improving since he arrived at the GPH around midnight last night following the accident, and is now in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Reports are that Booker was stationary on his bicycle in the vicinity of the East/West Bridge in Ruimveldt, waiting to cross the road, when a dark blue 212, heading in the direction of the Police Outpost, struck him down.
The driver of the vehicle is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
