BERLIN (Reuters) – World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has agreed to fight Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck in Duesseldorf on December 10, the Ukrainian said yesterday.
IBF, IBO, WBO champion Klitschko also added the WBA crown to his collection when he beat Briton David Haye in July. His brother Vitaly holds the WBC belt.
“Mormeck is one of the most experienced fighters I have faced,” the Ukrainian said in a statement. “He has had his share of championship fights, is skilled and smart. It would be fatal to underestimate him,” said Klitschko whose record stands at 56-3. The 39-year-old challenger, nicknamed ‘the marksman’ and a former cruiserweight champion, has a record of 36 wins and four defeats.
“Wladimir has a glass chin and I will break it,” Mormeck said. “I would think twice about taking on his brother but against Wladimir I have great chances.” “On December 11, I will return to Paris with a bagful of belts.”
