Georgetown Hospital commissioning new wing soon

The Georgetown Hospital Corporation will soon commission its new wing, which it said boasts self-contained suites equipped with life-saving equipment.

In a press release, the hospital said the new facility will contain four and six-bed self-contained suites with an oxygen outlet at each bed. โ€œAll the facilities in this new wing are new and/or refurbished,โ€ it explained, adding that the floors are seamless, which is standard for all hospitals as they prevent harmful bacteria from accumulating in cracks.

The demolition of the old building started early September and should be finished this month-end. This structure had housed the carpentry shop, maintenance and rehabilitation services, the records department, male/female surgical wards and the burn care unit.

The hospital said patients in the new building will enjoy more privacy and the overall ambience will help them to recuperate faster.
