Police are yet to receive a lead that could result in the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Jahave Browne who was found with a bullet wound to the chest at Bonehead, Omai on September 26.
Crime Chief Seelall Persaud told Stabroek News yesterday that investigators have received some information including about an illegal gun sale, but nothing concrete has materialized thus far. He said the police are still working on the information they have received and are yet to get a lead.
He stressed that investigations into the murder are continuing.
According to police, Browne’s body was found around 4 pm. Relatives have since told Stabroek News that while motive is unclear, the young man had been threatened prior to his death. They said they suspected that a man had delivered on a promise to kill him, over his [Browne’s] friendship with the man’s girlfriend. Another theory was that he was the victim of a robbery.
