Sporadic outages of BlackBerry messaging and email service today spread to Jamaica.
The Associated Press said that telecommunications company Digicel issued a statement apologising for the outage.
“Digicel is aware that some of its customers have been experiencing difficulties with their BlackBerry Service since 11:00pm on Tuesday, October 11th,” the statement said.
“RIM has confirmed that this is an issue that is currently impacting approximately 15 per cent of BlackBerry users across the Caribbean, plus Canada and Latin America. Our technical team is therefore working with RIM to get an update and to have this issue resolved as soon as possible,” the statement continued, according to AP.
