Magistrate Krishendat Persaud sentenced a man to seven days imprisonment after he confessed to breaking two louvre panes on his mother-in-law’s house over a misunderstanding.
Mohan Lall Ramjag, 24, a welder of Grove, East Bank Demerara, admitted the charge of damage to property when heappeared in the New Amsterdam Court.
Police Inspector Satrohan Dayaram told the court that Ramjag and his wife had had an argument and she fled to her mother Sarojonie Patpoo’s home at Nigg Settlement, on the Corentyne Coast.
A few hours later, Ramjag followed her there but was barred from entering the house. He then became annoyed and broke the window panes. A report was made at the Albion Police Station, and the man was arrested and charged.
