The Guyana Elections Com-mission yesterday served notice that October 27 is Nomination Day where lists of candidates for the general and regional elections have to be submitted to the Chief Election Officer.
In a notice in yesterday’s newspapers under the signature of GECOM’s Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally, it was stated that the lists shall be submitted between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm of October 27th to the Chief Election Officer, Gocool Boodoo at City Hall.
Under Section 9 of the Representation of the People Act Cap. 1:03, the Guyana Elections Commission shall by Notice published in the Official Gazette appoint a day not later than the 32nd before election day on which the lists of candidates may be submitted. General and regional elections will be held on November 28th.
