(De Ware Tijd) WAGENINGEN – Oil company Staatsolie is aiming for a yield of 70 to 85 tons of sugar cane per hectare at its pilot project in Wageningen for the production of ethanol. This is also one of the targets the company has set for the continuation of the ethanol project. Anand Jagesar, deputy director Business Development of Staatsolie, said this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Wageningen on Wednesday. According to Jagesar, this pilot project is intended to prove that Staatsolie can produce ethanol in en economically responsible manner. The project will be worked out further when the target has been achieved. It will be considered how the terrain should be developed and which adaptations should be made in order to set up a factory.
