The Guyana and Sagicor High Performance Centre match was rained out and umpires cancelled the game at about 1.15pm without a ball being bowled yesterday at the Guyana National Stadium.
The ground was inspected three times before the game was called off. Rain has now affected both of the HPC’s games and Guyana’s first game of the tournament which started Wednesday. Guyana leads Group A with eight points after picking up two points from yesterday’s rained out encounter.
Guyana won its first match against the Windward Islands on Wednesday by 103 runs and will be going into tomorrow’s match at Blairmont Community Centre ground against co-defending champions Barbados.
Today’s games will see Jamaica playing the Combined Campuses and Colleges team which upset Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) on Thursday by five wickets, at the Everest Cricket Club Ground. The other joint defending champion Leeward Islands will take on T&T in a must-win tussle.
