The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) said the post office at Mabaruma is now one of the most outstanding buildings in the community after extensive renovations were done.
In a press release, the GPOC said repairs were done by an external contractor and included dismantling the top flat and making the building over as a single storey. The renovation also included plumbing and electrical work, installing living accommodations and painting the exterior and interior of the building.
The GPOC said it is grateful to the persons who use this facility for their patience and cooperation during the renovations. Plans are also in train to effect extensive repairs to other offices, including the one at Suddie, on the Essequibo Coast. The GPOC plans to repair many of its offices, as soon as it is found to be finically feasible, to ensure the comfort of the public and workers, the release added.
