Former President of the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU) Colwyn King was yesterday committed to stand trial in the High Court on a charge of carnal knowledge.
This newspaper understands that King was committed by Magistrate Fazil Azeez, based on the evidence presented during a Preliminary Inquiry that had been ongoing in Court Three of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
On October 7, 2009, King allegedly had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of fifteen.
