The body of missing thirteen-year-old Ronaldo Henry, who was believed to have drowned in the Demerara River on Wednesday, was recovered yesterday.
Police said Ronaldo Henry’s body was found in the Demerara River, in the vicinity of Friendship, East Bank Demerara—a day after the body of his swimming companion, Devendra Mohabir, was discovered floating in the Demerara River in Ruimveldt area. Henry’s was positively identified by his parents.
On Wednesday, Henry and Mohabir, along with another male friend went swimming in the Demerara River close to Grove, East Bank Demerara. The surviving lad had told the boys’ relatives that after the water became rough, Mohabir was pulled away and he held onto Henry’s foot, and both went down.
On Monday, Henry had run away from his mother and kept avoiding her after she attempted to take him back home. The boys’ bodies are at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour.
