Guyanese athletes, Winston George and Adam Harris, were eliminated yesterday after the preliminary rounds of the 200m at the XVI Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
According to Chef-de Mission Noel Adonis, the two athletes each finished fifth in their respective heats. Adonis said the times recorded by the two athletes were not enough to get them berths into the second round of competition.
Harris clocked 22.67s and George, who suffered some discomfort from a recurring injury during the race, was timed at 24:17s. Guyana’s sole remaining medal hope the National Rugby team will be in action today when the games kick off at the Tlaqueplaque Stadium, Adonis reported.
