Amanda King and Niketa Barker have been selected as Guyana’s representatives in the Elite Model Look hunt for the next Caribbean face from among some 50 model-hopefuls who showed up for last Tuesday evening’s casting at the Pegasus Hotel.
According to a media release, Amanda, who is 6 ft, and Niketa, who is 5ft 5ins, will travel to Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the regional final billed for the Hyatt Regency on November 12.
At the regional final, three would-be models will be selected to participate in the next step of the Elite Model Look contest which will be held on December 6, in Shanghai, China. The winners are selected for their photogenic qualities, their personality and their natural beauty but also for their potential to correspond to current fashion trends. In China, 80 girls selected from 55 countries, will vie for a coveted two-year contract with the Elite agency.

According to the release, Begon expressed great satisfaction at the outcome of the casting because the quality of the models who attended.
The local sponsors of the casting were Pegasus, NCN, NTN, Silhouette, Guyana Fashion Weekend and Hibiscus.
The final Caribbean casting is scheduled for Barbados.
