The Miss India Guyana Pageant and the Bollywood Divas Mega Concert have been postponed owing to issues being experienced by the musicians and other band members of the Sunidhi Chauhan group in getting their UK visas.
The Bollywood Divas were expected to judge the pageant last night at the Pegasus Hotel and perform live tonight at the National Stadium.
It was indicated by promoters that while some artises would have already left India and were scheduled to arrive on Friday evening, other band members were unable to secure intransit visas for the UK.
As a result, the pageant has been shifted to November 18, and will still provide the winner with enough time to prepare for the international leg slated for February 2012.
Also, the highly anticipated mega concert will be hosted at the same venue on November 19.
According to the promotion team, the delay is to ensure a “complete show” since Sunidhi Chauhan prefers to have all her musicians included in the programme.
While assuring the public that the show will be made a reality, promoters said that tickets purchased will remain valid.
They apologized for any inconvenience caused.
