Dear Editor,
Early this year I had written a letter to you complaining that GPL is sending light bills to customers sometimes one week after the due date for payment has gone. On two occasions GPL came to cut off my light. Fortunately for me I had paid the amount owing the day before and I had to show the bill to the GPL people that I had paid.
In my letter to you I had suggested that GPL should send their light bills to customers before the month end and the due date should be a week or two after the month end. This suggestion would allow customers to pay their light bill when they get paid, or if they are not employed when they get their pension at month end and they would be able to pay their light bill.
In this way GPL would not have to cut off customers‘ lights.
GT&T is doing this when customers get their phone bills; there is always a month end coming up and the due date is after the month end.
However I observed about for the past three months when I have received my light bill, the due date is after the month end. I am so happy that my suggestion has been implemented, for which I say thank you GPL.
Yours faithfully,
J Kadaru
