Dixie Lee has once again thrown their weight behind sports by assisting two riders in the upcoming Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T), SeaBoard Marines Caribbean Motor Racing Championships slated for November 13 at the South Dakota Circuit.
Dixie Lee, a Canadian food franchise which is also a sponsor of the national men’s football team (Golden Jaguars), made donations yesterday to Carey Griffith and Joel Neblett who will benefit from tyres, helmets and other gear.
Griffith will be competing in the 600 to 1000cc open superbike ‘B’ class rookie races while Neblett will be racing in the ‘A’ class races.
Operations Manager of Dixie Lee, Leonard Faerber said that his company does not look for anything in return but is always grateful to be a part of the development of sports as a whole and will continue to sponsor such events.
Faerber also said that Dixie Lee has an outlet in Charity, Essequibo and plans to open several others around the country in the coming year.
The 29-year-old Griffith will be riding his Suzuki 750cc GSXR for the second time for the year after securing second and third place finishes at a meet in July.
Neblett will be racing his Yamaha R6 against the Vieiras Wayne and Steven and other foreign riders.
Griffith and Neblett thanked the Dixie Lee franchise for their support and pledged to do their best as they will be bringing their A game.
The duo added that they will go all out to give the fans their money’s worth and encouraged everyone to come out on November 13.
Griffith and Neblett also sent a stern message to the other riders saying, “It’s the War of the Gladiators, come November we are going to set the circuit ablaze.”
The two riders also lauded the efforts of their pit crew and their mechanic Jody Douglas.
Griffith also said he is thankful for the motivation and encouragement from the Vieiras and another teammate of his Carlos Rodrigues.
The duo is also sponsored by Wind Jammer International Hotel, Nigel’s Supermarket, EC Vieira Investments, Lester’s Mining, Professional Key Shop, Purple Heart Hotel and West Side Car Wash.
