The current inter-county under-17 50-overs tournament has been postponed until further notice owing to the inclement weather, according to the competition organizers.
Monday’s round two matches between Cellink Berbice versus President’s XI at Georgetown Cricket Club Ground (GCC) and Essequibo versus Demerara at Demerara Cricket Club (DCC), along with yesterday’s round three matches between Essequibo and President’s XI in Wakenaam and Demerara vs Cellink Berbice at DCC were all put on hold until further notice.
The only action in the competition so far saw Cellink Berbice and Demerara victorious in the opening round last Friday over Essequibo and President XI respectively.
Organizers have highlighted, however, that if the weather improves they are hoping to continue the competition next Monday.
At the conclusion of the inter-county competition, a Guyana squad will be chosen for the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Under-17 tournament in Trinidad and Tobago from December 10 to 20, 2011.
