Bartica resident Alvious Goddette was stabbed to death on Wednesday, at Black Water Backdam, Cuyuni, in Region 7.
His is one of two deaths in the region being investigated, police announced yesterday.
Police said that Goddette, 26, of Potaro Road, Bartica, was reported to have been stabbed to his chest on Wednesday evening at 9.30pm, at a shop at Black Water backdam. His body was brought out yesterday and is at the Bartica Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Reports are that he was stabbed to death by a woman during an argument over money. The woman is yet to be arrested. Meanwhile, police also said that they were investigating the discovery of the decomposed body of a man. According to police, at about 3pm on Thursday, the decomposed body of a man, identified only as “Anthony,” was found in a creek at Seemang Backdam, Issano, also in Region 7.
