Dear Editor,
I would like to declare that I will soon be putting an end to the seemingly unending speculation as to the party I will be supporting in the upcoming elections.
But first, I want to remind my supporters that my politics are, and have always been, reflective of national unity and racial harmony, since I am a true son of Guyana – a descendant of all our races.
I could have been part of the parties’ candidates list but I refused. Instead, I’ve opted to put the nation’s interest first over self. At this time, I am fully committed to seeing the back of this PPP regime.
Over the past twelve years, they have proven to be anti-working class, and allegedly have been linked to death squads and seen consorting with alleged drug lords. My own incarceration for five long, hard years, locked away in solitary confinement away from my little boy is testimony to the inherent nature of this regime.
Our police force is allegedly involved with drug dealers, torture, intimidation, etc. Which probably explains the mysterious revocation of Police Commissioner Henry Greene’s US visa. The US government does tend to deal condignly with corruption.
With this said, very soon I will be asking my supporters along with those undecided voters to come out in support of a party that truly represents all Guyanese and would protect the interest of the masses instead of a privileged and greedy few.
Yours faithfully,
Mark A Benschop
