The New York and Toronto Chapters of the Queen’s College Old Students Association (QCOSA) donated eight laptops and two multi-purpose printers and a projector to the school library.
Project Designer Patrick Chan, of the Toronto Chapter, said the project aimed to provide a modern network to ensure that students have secure access to the internet. He said the project has been running since April and organisers plan to provide students with individual access in order to help those who do not have internet access at home to be able to conduct research.
The project was funded by the Ministry of Toronto and was brought to fruition with assistance from Ian Mc David, who was the Managing Contractor, and Keiron Meredith of ABCS Inc. It was designed by Chan. President of the New York Chapter and Fundraising and Project Coordinator of the International Chapter Alfred Granger said the group is pleased by the cooperation of the QC alumni. QC Head Teacher Nadia Hollingsworth welcomed the donation, saying that she is pleased as it will help to enhance the school’s performance.
