The Muslim Youth League of Guyana and the Guyana United Sadr Islamic Anjuman have both underscored the virtue of self-denial in separate messages on the observance of Eid-ul-Adha.
The Muslim Youth League of Guyana said that Eid-ul-Adha is a time for Muslims to learn the value of self-denial by making a sacrifice of the things they love, to God Almighty.
“Today, more than ever, human beings need to incorporate the lessons of this great sacrifice into their lives,” while they “work hand in hand with people who have faith in the essential goodness of mankind,” the message from Shabir Hussain, President of the Muslim Youth League of Guyana said.
Meanwhile, Badruddin Hassan, Chairman of the Guyana United Sadr Islamic Anjuman and the Shaheed Boys & Girls Orphanages, expressed “joy and goodness” on the special occasion of Eid ul Azha
“In this age of political instability, ethnic and racial violence, greed, materialism and uncertainties, the selfless actions and willingness to sacrifice that which he (Prophet Ibrahim) loved best, still remain a vivid example of qualities in a human that allows him to tower over all others,” Hassan said.
