Police are sill looking for the woman who stabbed a Bartica man to death during an argument last Wednesday.
A senior police officer yesterday confirmed that the suspect is still on the run but assured that efforts are being made to locate her.
Alvious Goddette, 26, of Potaro Road, Bartica was stabbed to death at Black Water Backdam, Cuyuni, in Region 7.
According to the police’s accounts the man, a miner was reported to have been stabbed to his chest on around 9.30 pm while at a shop. While police did not reveal the circumstances surrounding the incident, this newspaper had been reliably informed there was an argument over money.
Meanwhile, the senior police official said that the decomposed body of a man which was found around 3 pm last Thursday in a creek at Seemang Backdam, Issano, also in Region 7, has still not been identified. The only name given so far is “Anthony” but relatives are still to come forward.
The official said a post-mortem examination will be conducted on the body tomorrow.
