Digicel today announced that it will be introducing the BlackBerry 9900 to Guyana from tomorrow – reputedly the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone ever produced.
A statement from Digicel today quoted Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James as saying, “the BlackBerry 9900 which features the most powerful engine ever in a BlackBerry smartphone is indeed a technological breakthrough.”
“Everything is faster with the BlackBerry 9900 which is popularly referred to as BlackBerry Bold 4. Scrolling is faster, loading is faster; even zooming is faster and much easier. Digicel is very pleased to introduce such a sleek, powerful smartphone to the market,” James continued.
The statement said that the BlackBerry 9900 will be sold for one hundred and thirty-nine thousand, two hundred dollars ($139,200) VAT inclusive.
It said that the BlackBerry which offers cutting edge technology in an attractive package will be available at authorised Digicel stores.
Digicel’s announcement comes two days before its local rival Guyana Telephone and Telegraph is set to launch its own BlackBerry Service at its Brickdam office. Dubbed the 11.11.11. event, GT&T has been heavily promoting its BlackBerry start-up.
