The trial of Travis Rudder, who is accused of shooting his 14-year-old girlfriend Donnis King, is scheduled to begin today with a voir dire before Justice Dawn Gregory-Barnes.
It is alleged that Rudder, 21, of Lot 5 Public Road, McDoom, East Bank Demerara, on March 23, 2007, shot his girlfriend at her parents’ Bagotstown home during an argument.
Following two months of hospitalisation, the teen succumbed to her injuries on May 23 in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Rudder is being represented by attorney Glenn Hanoman while State Prosecutors are Prithima Kissoon and Konyo Sandiford.
