Dear Editor,
Pastor V Beresford has in SN, Nov 10, given the Christian voters three very important principles to guide their decision: 1. conscience; 2. freedom of choice; 3. true knowledge. However, these are all subjective. The objective principle of ‘service to the nation’ should be added to these. The question to be asked is: What is the extent and quality of service to the nation as a whole that the individual candidate in his professional or social capacity has given to date? This should be the defining principle. It would be difficult to assess the service of any particular party, since that is the sum of many members. But we can assess the presidential candidates.
Yours faithfully,
Ralph Kenneth Daniels
