Freed murder accused on bail over robbery, wounding charges

Keith Doris, who was acquitted last week in the murder of Mahaicony shop owner Rambarran Singh, reappeared yesterday before Chief Justice (Ag) Ian Chang and was granted bail over charges of armed robbery and wounding with intent.

Doris was accused of murdering Singh, 69, called ‘Jaio,’ of 26 Good Faith, Mahaicony on November 24, 2006 at his home and business during a robbery. It is also alleged that he wounded Rajendra Singh in the process.

Attorney George Thomas requested bail for his client and this was granted in the sum of $400,000 for the armed robbery charge and $200,000 for the wounding charge.
