The large gathering was encouraged throughout the lively goal fest at another night of the Guinness Greatest-of-the-Street football tournament at the National Cultural Centre tarmac on Tuesday night.
Island Allstars, Festival City and East Front Road recorded the easiest wins of the night, routing their opponents by two goals or more.
There was also a hat-trick scored by Allstars’ Jermaine Morrison, who netted in the 8th, 14th and the 17th minutes, as his team steamrolled Stevedore Housing Scheme 5-1.
Paul Porter was the other goal scorer, finding the back of the net in the 5th and 7th minutes, while Kwesi Winter scored the consolation goal for Stevedore in the 15th minute.
Festival City downed Sophia 4-1 with Sherwin Sampson recording a double in the 19th and 25th minutes and Marco Marcus and Odel Williams scored in the 6th and 11th minutes respectively.
Shemroy Austin converted for Sophia three minutes after the first whistle.
East Front Road recorded a 4-2 victory over Eagles of Linden in another keenly contested game. Shakka Jones scored twice for Front Road in the 5th and 8th minutes and he got support from Mark Hart (6th) and Sean Mc Kenzie (17th).
Damon Carter drew first blood for the Lindeners in the third before Derron Smith followed in the 7th but the team was unable to keep the early momentum alive.
Linden’s other team, Retrieve, was also beaten, this time by D’urban Street, 2-1. All the goals were scored in the first half with D’urban Street players Reynold Rose and Colin Softley scoring in the 4th and 6th minutes respectively while Retrieve’s Kennard Simon netted a minute before the half in the 14th minute.
In the seventh game of the night West Back Road held Albouystown to a goalless game, beating them 2-0. Jermaine Sutton found the back of the net from as early as the 8th minute while Ryan Thomas scored two minutes after the half in the 17th minute.
West Front’s Gold is Money increased their chances for a spot in the next round when they defeated Back Circle 2-1. Gold is Money netted first in the 3rd minute and then in the 7th minute off the boots of Michael and Hubert Pedro respectively; Andy Duke scored for Back Circle in the 15th minute.
In the other two games of the night North Last Entrance drew with Kingston 1-1 and Albouystown and Charle-stown were also deadlocked on 1-1. Nigel Denny scored in the 22nd minute for Kingston; Andrew Murray Jr. scored in the 3rd minute for Albouystown A and for Charlestown their goal came from the boot of Claude Bascomb in the 5th minute.
