A haversack with six kilogrammes of suspected cocaine was yesterday morning found on a foreign registered boat.
Police said in a press release last evening that an arrest is yet to be made.
The release stated that around 06:45 hrs workers on a foreign registered vessel moored at the Demerara Shipping Company Wharf, Water Street, Georgetown, observed a haversack concealed under a built-in crane on the boat.
The police were informed and on checking the haversack was found to contain “a total of 6 kgs (kilogrammes) of suspected cocaine”.
Police investigations are continuing.
