A gunman last night shot a 30-year-old man in the instep after snatching his gold chain as he was walking along Lamaha Street.
Up to press time last evening Jeffrey Ferrell who resides in the city was still receiving medical attention. Doctors were contemplating if he required immediate surgery to remove the bullet which was still lodged in his foot.
Ferrell told hospital staff that around 18:30 hrs he was walking east along Lamaha Street when two men came off a motorcycle and approached him. He said that one of them snatched the gold chain he was wearing and as they jumped back onto the motorcycle, one of the men pulled a gun from his waist and discharged a round in his direction.
The bullet struck, Ferrell in the left instep. The men then escaped.
Police are aware of the incident and are conducting investigations.
