The Alliance For Change last evening said it had received credible reports that an excavator was used to tear down a banner which the party had mounted across the southern carriageway of the East Coast Demerara highway at Ogle.
In a statement, the party said it is most disturbed by this vandalism. It said the 21 ft banner was printed on sturdy material and reinforced with wood and high quality rope. It said the banner had attracted the attention of persons travelling from Berbice and the East Coast of Demerara into Georgetown and the AFC headquarters received numerous calls commending the party for it.
The AFC said it will be reporting the matter to the Guyana Police Force.
