Police yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for a Tucville man for questioning in relation to trafficking in narcotics.
Dexter Pires, according to the bulletin is 29 years old and was last known to be living at Lot R13-571 Conciliation Street, TucVille, Georgetown. He is of mixed race, medium built and is 5’7” tall.
While police did not link the man to a specific incident, Stabroek News was told that he is wanted in connection with Saturday’s discovery of six kilogrammes of cocaine aboard a foreign vessel.
Police had stated in a press release that around 06:45 hrs workers on a foreign registered vessel moored at the Demerara Shipping Company Wharf, Water Street, Georgetown, observed a haversack concealed under a built-in crane on the boat.
The police were informed and on checking the haversack was found to contain “a total of 6 kgs of suspected cocaine”.
