Dear Editor,
We have had nineteen years of contention, rape of the economy and the fact that often what the PPP/C has endorsed has turned out to be tainted, like Bernard Kerik, now a convicted US felon, in addition to the questionable investors. How does an Indonesian graft suspect and his family end up with Guyanese passports? How does an Indian coffee mogul get over 1.8 million hectares of our forest?
Some for personal gain and the promise of bright material presents have surrendered (some compromised by their own shortcomings) to the PPP against the better judgment of conscience. We must ignore them, step away from their flimsy excuses and recognize that only APNU has the expertise to rescue this nation.
The PPP is a fossil that repeats itself with the very ethnic window-dressing it is applying now. I concluded years ago that the PPP in office has always shrouded the nation in unease, and its governance has reflected nepotism, bribery and mediocrity. This is the legacy that Mr Ramotar will continue. I have chosen not to mention what is now public conversation, so as to establish the obsolescence of a political cult which has survived because of a numerical anomaly.
Yours faithfully,
Barrington Braithwaite
