102 and going strong: Margaret Hamilton of Lot 58 Joseph Pollydore Street, Georgetown on Thursday celebrated her 102nd birthday. To commemorate this special occasion, Hamilton’s daughter Verly Hamilton, along with other relatives and members of the Trinity Methodist Church held a Thanksgiving Service in the centenarian’s honour. The service comprised a praise and worship session, led by Sisters Claudette Bable and Marva Griffith; a scripture reading, done by Reverend Glenna Spencer; a moment of meditation led by Reverend Sherril Halley; followed by greetings by her son Orin Hamilton, daughter Ona Giles and her grand- and great-grand children. In this Anjuli Persaud photo, Hamilton takes time off from listening to the sermon to smile for the camera.
