Blindsided: These two cars collided at the corners of Hill and Joseph Pollydore streets, Lodge yesterday after one of the drivers’ view was obstructed by a stationary sewerage truck (See photo below). Based on the accounts given by eyewitnesses, the car on the left (PMM 5530) was heading out of Hill Street when he collided head on with the car on the right (PGG 9988) which had just turned onto Joseph Pollydore Street from Mandela Avenue. Luckily no one was injured during the accident which occurred just before 1 pm. When Stabroek News arrived at the scene the police and a crowd had already gathered. The impact sent both cars careening into the trench. Persons blamed the sewerage truck for the accident. One man said that the vehicle had been in that position for at least six months now and is a hazard to all motorists using that section of the road. He along with other residents yesterday urged the relevant authority to remove the vehicle immediately. (Photo by Anjuli Persaud)
