Results for 12 polling stations in Skeldon and Crabwood Creek, Corentyne show solid voting for the PPP/C.
The PPP/C tallied 2,078 votes compared to 265 for the AFC and 38 for the APNU.
These results are of interest to political observers as they show that the defection of Moses Nagamootoo to the AFC did not have a perceptible effect throughout the Corentyne belt. In Whim – Nagamootoo’s hometown – and nearby areas, the AFC took a significant chunk of votes away from the PPP/C.
