The 22nd edition of the Kashif and Shanghai football tournament got another shot in the arm with the contribution the organizers received from Giftland Office Max yesterday.
It was an undisclosed amount but it was noted by Marketing Manager of the company, Compton Babb, that it was sizeable. This is the company’s sixth year on board and according to Babb the company’s management continues to feel pride in its association with the K&S tournament.
“Giftland Office Max is proud to be part of this great event for the sixth year in a row. It’s a sizeable donation and we want to wish the teams well as we look forward to another successful tournament,” Babb said.
Speaking on behalf of the K&S Organisation, Kashif Muhammad expressed gratitude to the company for its continued support, assuring that preparations are moving smoothly for the tournament that runs from December 10 to January 1, 2012.
Preliminary matches are scheduled for the Georgetown Football Club (GFC), Uitvlugt, Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC), Blairmont, and Beterverwagting grounds. The semi-finals and final will take place at the National Stadium, Providence.
Meanwhile, 20 teams, including two from overseas, will vie for the top prize of one pound of gold valued at $4M, while the runner-up will receive $1,000,000. The third and fourth place finishers will carry home $500,000 and $300,000 respectively.
The Most Valuable Player will receive a motorcycle.
