Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry granted a porter $30,000 bail when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday charged with making use of threatening behaviour, threatening language and assault.
The court heard that between November 27 and 28, Kevin Maloney, of 29 Pere Street, Kitty unlawfully assaulted Marcia Sharple. He also allegedly made use of threatening behaviour toward the same woman and allegedly used threatening language toward Omianda Lewis and Maurice Lovell. Maloney pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court heard that on November 27, the defendant and Sharple had a misunderstanding during which he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and threatened to kill her. He also had a misunderstanding with Lewis and allegedly threatened to kill her and she ran to Lovell for rescue. In response, Lovell told the accused that he could not speak to Lewis and he allegedly threatened to burn the man’s house down.
Maloney was granted $10,000 bail on each charge. He was ordered to return to court on December 6.
