Police had last Sunday reported that the deceased, along with two other men attacked law enforcers as they were transporting ballot boxes to two interior areas. The police said that initial information obtained from two police ranks at the scene was that they were on duty escorting two ballot boxes to Maripa Dukwari and Kurutuku. While at the Maripa Dukwari Landing, the ranks were attacked by three men who were armed and who attempted to take away the police firearms during which one of them was fatally shot.
Little’s accomplices are yet to be found and apprehended by police, and according to Crime Chief Seelall Persaud no one in the Cuyuni area, where the incident occurred, seems to know who they are. “Police have searched the area but found no sign of them,” he said.
