The Demerara Cricket Club second division team yesterday grabbed first innings points from their arch rivals the Georgetown Cricket Club on the first day of their two-day Noble House Seafoods second division competition at Bourda.
In reply to GCC’s first innings score of 157 all out DCC were at close off play on 163-8 with Linden Lyght unbeaten on 35 and Jermaine Horatio not out on three.
Omesh Dhaniram is so far having a fine all round match grabbing 2-14 from six overs when GCC batted and top scoring for DCC with 38.
Earlier, Gavern Charles scored 36; Trevor France 31 and opener Fadil Omrow scored 28 as GCC were dismissed for 157.
Lyght too crowned a fine all round display by bagging 3-73 from 16 overs while Dennis Squires was the pick of the DCC bowlers with 3-25 from his 16 overs.
In DCC’s reply, Andrew Gibson supported with 21 and Jairam Byron 19 as Winston Forrester grabbed 4-52 from 15 overs. France, Devon Lord and Tariq Bharanlall each picked up a wicket. The match continues today.
