AHMEDABAD, India, CMC – Sachin Tendulkar, still in search of his elusive 100th international century, is likely to play in the last two limited overs matches against West Indies, after being rested for the first three.
Well-placed sources said the 38-year-old batting star wants to play in the matches in Indore and Chennai on December 8 and 11.
The Kris Srikkanth-led selection panel will meet today to pick the squad for the remainder of the series besides choosing a replacement for the injured pacer Praveen Kumar for the upcoming Tests against Australia.
Tendulkar’s last international century came on March 12 during a World Cup group league match against South Africa in Nagpur.
His last missed opportunity for a 100th international hundred was in the third Test against the West Indies in his home town of Mumbai when he was dismissed for 94.
India lead the five-match ODI series 2-0 with the third match here today.
