Orrin Bailey was yesterday slapped with the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm when he appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
According to the particulars of the charge, on December 3 at Georgetown the 55-year-old accused of Lot 2936 North Ruimveldt assaulted his partner Fayeann Abrahams. The man pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
Prosecutor Neville Jeffers told the court that the two parties shared a relationship for the past 13 years. He further related that the VC accused the defendant of having an affair with her friend.
On the day in question, the woman was walking along the Brickdam Public Road when she was approached by the accused who slapped her to the face. As a result she made a report to the police station and later obtained a medical certificate for the injuries she had sustained.
After listening to the facts the magistrate informed the man that he would be placed on $15,000 bail and a bond to keep the peace pending the determination of the matter.
