A man who allegedly damaged an $85,000 car windscreen belonging to another man was yesterday placed on $50,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The court was told that on October 10 at Georgetown the accused Trevon Rodriguez unlawfully damaged one windscreen of motorcar PMM 2679 belonging to Brian Partab.
In presenting the facts to the court Prosecutor Neville Jeffers said that the two parties are known to each other because the accused shared a relationship with the VC’s friend.
On the day in question at about 02:30 the VC was at home when he heard a strange noise coming from outside his yard. The man then looked out and he saw the accused running away from his car. As a result he made checks and noticed that his car windscreen was broken. The matter was immediately reported and the defendant was later charged.
After listening to the facts of the prosecution, the court ordered the defendant to keep the peace pending the outcome of the matter and he was granted bail.
The case would be called again on February 7 for report and fixture.
