Star Party Rentals and Global Connection have become the latest entities to throw support behind the Kashif and Shanghai football tournament, which commences on Saturday with a double-header at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda.
The general managers of both companies, Lennon Cush (former Guyana cricketer) and Alfred King yesterday presented an undisclosed sum to co-directors of the Kashif and Shanghai Organization, Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major at the respective companies headquarters.
Cush said Star Party Rentals was pleased to partner with the K&S Organization, with which it has shared an alliance for the last three years.
King, whose company is joining up with the tournament for the first time, highlighted that his New York-based company has heard about the football tournament for years and was always interested in supporting it adding that the company was pleased to have finally made it a reality.
Both Muhammad and Major thanked the two companies for their support for the 22nd edition of the tournament, which will feature 20 teams and has a winning prize of one pound of gold, valued at $4 million.
The competition will kick off with Mill Ballers of Bartica taking on Kuru Kururu Warriors at 17: 30hrs and city side Pele clashing with Timehri Panthers at 20:30hrs.
