Strengthening trade between Guyana and Canada and the assistance which Canada can give to developing countries like Guyana were discussed when the Private Sector Commission met with Canadian High Commissioner David Devine and Pearl Williams, Senior Advisor, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Department of Canada last Monday.According to a press release from the PSC, the impending new trade agreement between Canada and Caricom and the role of the Government of Canada in facilitating trade were also discussed.Further the release stated that the expanding number of Canadian firms which are currently investing in Guyana was also touched on at the meeting.In photo from left are Clem Duncan, Chairman of the Trade and Investment Committee of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association; Pearl Williams; Canadian High Commissioner, David Devine; Ramesh Dookhoo, Chairman of the Private Sector Commission.
