The Main Big lime will be hosted as usual by the Ministry of Tourism on Boxing Day, December 26.
Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority Indranauth Haralsingh yesterday confirmed that plans are well underway and the tradition will continue. Patrons who usually look forward to this event have nothing to worry about, he said.
There was concern among members of the public who thought that without a minister appointed to this ministry, the event would not have been possible.
However, Haralsingh had previously told Stabroek News that this factor will not disrupt the agenda set until the completion of this year.
He had stated that tourism is “normal” because of the presence of directors of tourism and industry.
He explained that because of the budget which has been fixed to conclude at the end of this year, all programmes will be executed as planned.
