(Jamaica Gleaner) Police commissioner, Owen Ellington, has praised the Westmoreland police for their efforts which led to the conviction of Andre Brown otherwise called Taliban.
Brown was listed as Westmoreland’s most wanted person and the leader of the infamous ‘Bobo’ gang.
He was convicted on Wednesday in the Western Regional Gun Court for shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and sentenced to 15 years on each charge.
Commissioner Ellington says the Westmoreland police must be commended for their work on the case as Brown was responsible for a number of murders, shootings and other violent crimes in the parish.
The Police Commissioner also praised the work of the team from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
