A post-mortem examination performed on the body of Tuschen accident victim Puran Ram on Friday revealed that he died as a result of multiple injuries.
The dead man’s son, Ganesh, yesterday related to Stabroek News that he contacted the police again on Friday morning, prior to the PME, and they informed him that investigations will commence following the results. He said however, that when he tried contacting them again on Friday afternoon, he was unsuccessful.
Both Ganesh and other relatives continue to believe that Ram was the victim of a hit and run accident.
A police press release had earlier revealed that on Wednesday night Ram was driving his motor cycle along the Public Road at Meten-Meer-Zorg, WCD, when he reportedly swerved from a cow and crashed. Ram’s son however, visited the scene of the accident and found no traces of any animal. He had the impression however, that his father had been dragged for some way by a four-wheel vehicle.
